Clinic Operations : A Professional Environment
The moment you enter one of our clinics, you will be greeted by one of our fabulous office assistants. All our staff are trained in customer service excellence. We want your experience to be as pleasant as possible.
To make you comfortable our offices are decorated in warm, inviting colours. In the waiting area you will see samples of assistive listening devices such as amplified telephones, TV listening devices and noise cancelling headphones. We also make custom noise protection, musicians' earplugs, swimmoulds and communication moulds for options like wireless bluetooth devices for your cell phone.
All of our waiting areas are outfitted with televisions to provide you with the latest information on hearing, hearing loss and hearing devices. When you see the clinician, you will enter a private fitting/counselling room where we will thoroughly review your medical history to determine possible causes of hearing loss. Spouses and significant others are always recommended and are welcome to accompany you.
Our routine hearing assessment takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. You will be taken into a soundproofed test room so ambient noise does not affect the test results. First, we examine your ears with an otoscope to look at the health of your outer ear canal and eardrum. Next, we do a pressure check of your ears, this will tell us how well your eardrum and little bones of the ear are transmitting sound. At this point we can determine if an evaluation with your family doctor or Ear Nose and Throat doctor (ENT) is warranted. Then headphones or insert earphones are placed on your ears for tone testing to determine how softly you can hear different pitches or tones (like notes on a piano). Speech testing is also conducted to determine how softly you can understand words and how clearly you can understand words spoken at different sound levels.
Following the assessment, you are returned to the fitting/counselling room to discuss the results. We explain in detail how your natural hearing is processing sound and whether correction is needed. We can determine whether any hearing deficits are a result of the outer ear, middle ear, or inner ear and will make appropriate medical referrals when needed.
If your hearing loss is related to occupational noise, we can help initiate hearing loss claims with third party providers such as Worker’s Compensation and Veterans' Affairs.
At this time, we can also demonstrate or simulate improved hearing through state-of-the-art hearing devices. You can hear the difference immediately. You are under no obligation, but with some of the new technology in hearing devices, you can leave our office in under an hour with better hearing. All of our hearing devices come with an industry leading 100-day, 100 per cent money-back guarantee. Expert Hearing Solutions………From People Who Care. |
