Testimonials : A Few Words from our Patients
 To whom it may concern,
I began my five year association with Jeff Naka at Expert Hearing Solutions, in the spring of 2002. I was beginning to avoid groups because I was missing parts of conversations and starting to “fill in the blanks” instead of being sure what was said. I have always enjoyed walking and birdwatching and I was now unable to hear many birdsongs. I had heard about people not using their hearing aids because of appearance, background noise and feedback but I knew my hearing was failing and after consulting with my family physician I decided to look for help.
After Jeff tested my hearing I followed his recommendations and began wearing my Starkey Hearing Aids in 2002. With the care and help of Jeff and his staff I was pleased with my hearing improvement immediately. I was much more willing to join group conversations, I could watch TV with volume set at a comfortable level for others and I was delighted to be able to hear birdsongs. Yes, hearing aids do take some “getting used to” but the key is persistence and the ongoing service provided with your hearing instruments.
In 2006 I learned that improvements in technology had taken place and I would benefit from changing my hearing aids. Again, with Jeff’s testing and recommendations, I changed to a newer Starkey model. The benefits of these more up-to-date instruments are amazing:

elimination of feedback noise

talking on the telephone without adjustments because there’s no feedback from one ear to the other

reduction of unwanted background noise

the ability to focus on conversation in group situations

at hockey games I used to remove my hearing aids because of the crowd noise and listen to the play-by-play on radio. Now I leave my hearing aids in and enjoy the game
I was pleased with my 2002 model Starkeys but the 2006 model was a vast improvement. The guidance and cheerful advice I received from Jeff and staff made the transitions as easy as possible.
I want to thank Jeff and Expert Hearing Solutions for helping me to improve my quality of life. I would recommend them, without reservations, to anyone needing help with hearing.

 From the people who care, is exactly what the office of Jason Schmiedge and Trevor Hancheroff (of Expert Hearing Solutions) represent. They are the experts for hearing. Jason is the best audiologist I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen lots of audiologists.
I had eardrum surgery repair when I was seventeen. Now I have another hole in my left eardrum. I was told that I had a two year waiting period in order to fix the hole in my eardrum.
In the meantime, I’m supposed to use a hearing aid until my surgery time. In the Yellow Pages, I found the Expert Hearing Solutions office. I was called in immediately to see Jason. Everywhere (else I phoned), I had to wait six months to get an appointment.
The audio equipment (at Expert Hearing Solutions) is the best I’ve ever seen and very precise. Jason explained (how) everything (worked) in detail. Jason is very helpful and knows a lot about hearing aid problems.
The appointments (at Expert Hearing Solutions) are always on time — no waiting! I’m very pleased that I found Expert Hearing Solutions.

Our first impression of Expert Hearing Solutions' clinic is of warm, caring and understanding assistant staff that always aimed to put our needs first. Erin Galley and Lynda Atwood are both professional and efficient, and always made us feel welcome and comfortable. They truly listened, were caring and friendly, and tried to understand my hearing problems and were always eager to solve the problem. They made every effort to meet all the needs of their client in a fast and efficient manner.
The audiologists Rob Reiter, Jason Schmiedge and Sara Chetwynde are definitely experienced experts and have taken my hearing to a level I never thought possible. Their patience, understanding and diligent efforts have always made every visit to the clinic a promising experience. I appreciate their one on one discussions and teaching methods, which make it easy to comprehend the very technical ways that their hearing products work to improve hearing, and most of all give a better quality of life.

 I came to the Oliver office in October of 2006 and had previously had aids from another company and I was not really happy with them and had subsequently lost one of them. Vanessa McLean (at Expert Hearing Solutions) explained I needed to write a letter to WCB regarding the circumstances, which I did, and was accepted for new aids.
Lynn Ehrman did a marvelous job of assessing me and found after much discussion of my needs that I would be a good candidate for Resound Pixel Mini BTE's and ordered them for me. I came in for my fitting and scheduled a follow-up appointment. The follow-up took five minutes most of which was my praise for the great choice and increased freedom the aids have given me. I am ecstatic at the quality of hearing I am experiencing, the comfort of the aid and the excellent service and professionalism I received since the first moment I stepped foot in the office. I will be telling more people about the nice, lovely girls at Expert Hearing and how I was in and out with NO problems!

 My name is Jeannie Pounder. I have suffered with significant hearing loss since early childhood. When you have loss of hearing at an early age (as with eyesight problems), you do not realize you have a problem, you just think it is “normal.” It was not until about five years ago, after much pleading from my family, I went to another establishment to see about hearing aids. I received a pair, but technology not being what it is today they made voices sound strange, whistled a lot and were not comfortable. As I became more and more frustrated with them, they spent more time in the dresser than they did in my ears.
Well, time passed and I was finding it even more difficult to hear even a normal conversation with friends and co-workers. I recently moved to the Okanagan and was lucky enough to make the acquaintance of a lovely cheery person by the name of Lois Kaplan. She told me she worked for Expert Hearing Solutions in Penticton. I told her about my past experience (with hearing aids). She explained that the technology had improved over the past few years and told me to just drop by and speak with Dave Upton about the advancements that have been made.
I took her advice and made an appointment. I was very happy with the kind, courteous service I received from both Lois and Dave. Dave was very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what improvements have been made with the technology. I ordered a pair, under no obligation if I was not totally satisfied. Due to my specific needs, I would say that I was more difficult to please than any of their other customers, but they met me with a smile each time. (Even when I showed up unexpectedly on the Friday before a long weekend because my daughter was getting married and I wanted to make sure I could hear her wedding vows. They made a small adjustment and away I went, quite happily I might add!)
My circumstances are a little more difficult than most, as my job deals with answering a switchboard and talking to the public, usually both at the same time. In the past it was an ordeal to try and talk on the phone while wearing a hearing aid what with the screeching and whistling, and having to re-adjust the volume wheel once off the phone. But no more …
Because of the patient, kind and courteous service of Lois and Dave at Expert Hearing Solutions I can now actually “HEAR” what is going on around me.
